Book Beginnings, Friday 56, MEME

Friday Book Excerpts

I saw this over on Dorie’s Reading Corner this morning and thought it was a really fun idea, so I thought that I would join in on the fun.  I may be a bit late today, but better late than never.

  • Book Beginnings on Fridays hosted by Rose City Reader, where bloggers share the first sentence or more of a current book, as well as any first impressions or initial thoughts they might have.
  • The Friday 56 hosted by Freda’s Voice, where you grab a book and turn to page 56 (or 56% of an ebook), find one or more interesting sentences, and post them.

This week’s excerpts are brought to you by How To Stop Time by Matt Haig.  I received an E-Arc of this book from NetGalley of this book, which will be released February 6. Goodreads

 Book Beginnings:

I am old.

That is the main thing to tell you.  The thing you are least likely to believe.  if you saw me you would probably think I was about forty, but you would be very wrong.

The Friday 56:

Four eyes and two guns were now staring hard at me.  Never seen anyone so quick on the draw as those two.  It was them all right.

They pointed at the pistol I was carrying.  ‘Place it on the table, nice and slow…’

So far I am really enjoying this read and can’t wait to finish it!
